Travel was finally possible again! At short notice we booked a hotel and guest house in Venice and set off with our car. When we arrived in Venice, we parked the car in a garage (foreigners generally get parking spaces on the roof, in the blazing sun!). We took a vaporetto (water bus) to the Accademia station and after a 3-minute walk we reached the Hotel-Pension Accademia / Villa Maravege. In the following days we explored the city on foot, drove the big round with the vaporetto and visited some churches and museums (e.g. SCUOLA GRANDE DI SAN ROCCO). With the vaporettos we made very nice day trips to Burano and Murano. At lunchtime and in the evening we visited a wide variety of eateries, whereby we only want to mention the good ones, but not restaurants that are run by Chinese.
